Relief Chef

On joining Independents by Sodexo, my feet didn’t touch the ground! Working as a relief chef, every day is different. One day I can be cooking for a fine dining event, the next it will be core feeding for 1,000+ students and staff. No two days are the same and this is perfect for me because I love to be challenged.

My background is in hotels and restaurants and I have always been passionate about using only the freshest ingredients I can find and showcasing each and every one’s natural beauty. Working for Sodexo I get to enjoy creating fresh food from scratch from some of the industry’s finest suppliers. We are all encouraged to attend craft training courses and competitions because the company is driven to make us excel and be the best we can be.

Catering for such high numbers is incredibly challenging when everything is made from scratch but hugely rewarding when the end result is eaten and enjoyed. It is no surprise to me that there are so many highly skilled and passionate chefs within Independents as the combination of a dedicated company and amazing ingredients makes Sodexo the obvious choice for craft professionals.

I look forward to a long and rewarding career within Independents by Sodexo and hopefully a few gold competition medals along the way!
